Twenty-three but Seems Like a Lifetime

On a hot summer afternoon on July 29th in small-town Mississippi, two lives became one. We had just met the summer before, but God had a plan for us that was greater than we could even imagine. We have been on a journey we never dreamed of where God would lead us.  We always want to be where God wants us and nowhere else. When Noel asked me to marry him, one of the first things we did was to pray right there in the church where he proposed. Prayed that God would join our hearts, bless our marriage, and to serve Him supremely.

In our marriage, we have seen every part of life, the good, the bad, the ugly. These have been in our own lives and the lives of friends and church members. We have walked through our struggles of infertility, adoption, illnesses, home reno(4 times), school, and depression. Despite all of that the good far outweighs the bad.  God has never let us down. He has always been faithful to take care of us and to provide when needed.

We have served four churches in our married life – Mississippi, Alabama, Ohio, and now Texas.  Each one brought special people into our lives that helped us and encouraged us when we needed it.  Each church will always hold a special place in our hearts.  You are part of us forever.

In the last few days, Noel and I have reminisced about all of the places we have traveled and things we have done.  We have memories of travels with our girls and times of when it was just the two of us.  All the different types of foods we have tried and things we have seen. I can’t imagine doing life with anyone else or would ever want to.

I am looking forward to what God has in store for us in the next 23 plus years. I love you Noel and thank you for asking me out for lunch.
